Instructors
Adele Harwas Miss Adele has been teaching at The Arts of the Dance Centre for 25 years.  She is a member of Dance Masters of America and graduated from its Teacher Training School in 1986. Adele attends the Florida Dance Masters November Workshop each year, completed its Intensive Teaching Seminar, judged their 1999 Rising Star Competition and has taught acrobatics for the organization.  She has served as a teacher in modern and jazz for Dance Masters Workshops and in January 2000 taught the jazz syllabus in the teacher’s class.  She also judged the 1988 Indiana State Dance Championships.  She performed for four years with the jazz company, DanceZone Inc.  For five consecutive years she choreographed for the Miss Vineland and Cumberland County Scholarship Pageant. Adele also taught jazz and critiqued for the Cumberland County Teen Arts Festival.  
Kelly Perez Miss Kelly has been on the teaching staff at The Arts of the Dance Centre since 1992. She has completed a three year intensive training seminar in Orlando, Florida with Florida Dance Masters. Miss Kelly has had numerous performance opportunities and has participated in ITDI dance competitions. She is a former member of the ADC Performance Company. Furthermore, Miss Kelly has entertained at the Teen Arts Festival, Miss Vineland, and Miss Cumberland County Scholarship pageants, Walt Disney World and various nursing and group home shows.
Kelly has a B.S. degree in Environmental studies from Richard Stockton College of N.J. and a Masters degree in Environmental Science from NJIT.
Jennifer Banks Miss Jennifer has been dancing at The Arts of the Dance Centre ever since she was a young girl. Currently, Miss Jennifer is teaching ballet, tap, jazz and acro. Miss Jennifer has completed the fourth year level of Dance Master of America Teachers Training Seminar testing in the ballet and tap portion of her certification. She is a former member at The Arts of the Dance Centre Performing Company. Miss Jennifer keeps her training up to date by attending DMA and ITDI workshops and classes throughout the year. Jennifer is a 2002 graduate of the Richard Stockton State of College of N.J. with a B.S. degree in Social Work. She also works full time at the Atlantic County Special Service School District.
Jill Graves Miss Jill after starting to dance at the age of 4, Miss Graves started her pre-professional training at the Royal Academy of Dancing at age 11. She joined the Omaha Ballet as an apprentice at age 15 and during her time in the Company performed various roles in Giselle, Swan Lake, Les Sylphide, Graduation Ball and Suite for Small Spaces, among others. She has worked with choreographers James Clouser, Thomas Enkell, Kathyryn Honne and Lucinda Childs.
She continued her education with a double major in ballet and modern dance at Texas Christian University. She continued her professional career with ACBT until 1996. Jill has been teaching and choreographing since college and has recently worked with Cumberland County College and The South Jersey Regional Theater as actor and choreographer as well as the OC Music Pier with The OCPops.
Marlene Von Reuter Harwas Miss Von began her education with Ida Hughes and Phil Nutt at his “Studio”. She attended the Ned Wayburn School and then studied with Bobs Whitman, Charles and Norma Tesseri, and Frank DuMont all here in the Vineland area. For twenty years she was under the tutelage of the Philadelphia Ballet Master, Pete Conlow. Miss Von studied with Mary Sisom and graduated with distinction from the Classical Ballet Royal Academy Method, and Dance Master of America Teachers Training Workshop at Kent State University. She continues yearly with her dance instruction. Miss Von started teaching for the Fred Astaire Studio and then the Arthur Murray Studios and now owns and operates The Arts of the Dance Centre which she has done for the past 48 years. She has been a member of Dance Master of America for over 30 years.
Cadhla Mackensie Horsey Miss Cadhla has been dancing for 14 years. She dances 5 days a week and teaches 2 days a week. She frequently attends “Tap Jams” in Philadelphia, takes classes at Broadway Dance Center in NYC, attends DMA conventions and recently attended the Pulse Dance Convention in AC. She’s taken classes with many celebrity Master Teachers including: Wade Robson, Sonya Tayeh, Lauriann Gibson, Mia Michaels, Dave Scott, Jason Samuel Smith and Chris Judd…to name a few. Her Dance training includes: jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, modern, lyrical, latin, ballroom, pop and lock, hula and acrobatics. She has performed in many talent shows and tied for 3rd in a talent competition. She’s also performed locally for the community. She recently participated in 2 group competition dances for DMA which received gold metals. She plans to continue teaching and further her dance education.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Alexis Acevedo-Ahl Lexii is a Junior at VHS and has been dancing at The Arts of the Dance Centre for 14 years. She has studied multiple forms of dance such as ballet, tap, jazz, modern, acrobatics and many more. Lexii has also been taught by world renowned choreographers like Cris Judd, Laurianne Gibson and Mia Michaels from the hit TV show “So You Think You Can Dance.” She has been awarded many scholarships to further her dance education and presently holds the tittle, Miss Dance of P.A. In July she will be attending the National Convention of Dance Masters of America in Orlando and will be Competing for the National Miss DMA tittle.         Zumba Fitness Instructors
 Solsivé Harwas Miss Solsive a Venezuelan native, in 1998 graduated of IUTEPAL majoring in Information Systems. She attended ASODANZA in 2002 and studied Venezuelan Folk Dance. She has studied Ballroom, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern and Hula. She attended her first Zumba Class in the summer of 2005 and loved it! In February 2006 she was certified as a Zumba Instructor by Alberto “Beto” Perez the Creator of Zumba in Dayton, Ohio. She started conducting Zumba classes in March of that year. In 2008 she completed level Zumba Basic 2 and Zumba Toning. In 2009 she was certified as a Zumbatomic (Zumba for kid ages 4-12) and a Zumba Gold Instructor. She has conducted Zumba classes for: The Ladies Workout Express, Achieve Physical Therapy and Fitness, Tilton Fitness, the Staff of Indian Avenue School in Bridgeton and the Cumberland County College Women’s Softball Team. She has made Zumba presentations at various health fairs, the Hispanic Heritage Week in Bridgeton, the Regal Cinema and the Wallace School Health Week and VHS Hispanic Culture Week. She has also participated and conducted Zumbathons in Vineland, and recently taught a Zumbatomic Class for the kids at the Cherry Street School in Bridgeton for the Fitness and Nutrition Week. Recently she attended the  AAA/ISMA "One World" Fitness Certification and Educational Conferences in Atlantic City getting her certification in Piloxing.
 
 
 Donnalea Thomas Miss Donnalea received her Zumba certification in January 2008 by Master Trainer Tanya Beardsley. She received her Zumba Basic 2 and Zumba Toning certifications in November 2008, and Zumba Gold during the 2009 Zumba Convention in Florida. Donna also attended a Master Class in Miami Florida given by the creator of Zumba Fitness, Beto Perez. Donna has participated in many local Zumba fundraisers and has conducted Zumba classes for the staff at a local Elementary School. She is on staff at the Studio and is certified in Group Fitness by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.
 
     Past dance experience includes ten years of study in ballet, tap & jazz. She graduated from C.C.P of Philadelphia with A.A.S degree in Dental Hygiene. She is a practicing dental hygienist in Vineland.
Helen Horsey Miss Helen attended Dance Masters of America’s Teacher Training Program and has received her certification in ballet, tap and jazz.  She has also studied at the Joffrey Ballet in New York City.  Masters such as Luigi, Ron Daniels, Gus Giordono, Frank Hachett, David Howard and Charles Kelly, have over the years, contributed to Helen’s dance education.  From 1979 - 1984 Helen performed with the Diane Hull Dance Company for which she was assistant dance captain.  In 1983 Helen founded DanceZone, Inc and served as its artistic director until 1989. She has also choreographed for several theater groups & pageants including:  The Cumberland Players, The Glassboro State Theater Department, Stageworks Touring Company, KYW TV-3, Miss Vineland and Miss Cumberland County Scholarship Pageants. She has taught master classes for Dance Masters of America and International Dance Teachers Incorporated and judged several scholarship competitions. Helen was on faculty at Rowan University from 1997 to 2002.  

 
Elizabeth Smart  Miss Elizabeth started dancing at the age of 7 here at ADC in 2002, and started assisting in 2005. This year she is teaching a Creative Class, as well as team teaching Jazz A, Grammar I, and Kinder I, with Miss Lexii. Additionally, she attends DMA and Pulse Dance conventions, and has performed at various nursing homes and talent shows. Miss Elizabeth attends Gloucester County Institute of Technology, where she continues to focus on her dance training and career. At school, she has classes consisting of ballet technique, ballet history, modern, and rhythmic concepts. Performances at school include the Junior/Senior Winter Performance, and the Freshmen/Sophomore Spring Performance.

Lauren D'Ottavio  Lauren is a Senior at Vineland High School and has been dancing at The Arts of the Dance Centre for 15 years. She has studied ballet, pointe, jazz, tap and modern and has taken part in the "Pulse" Dance Workshop with famed choreographers, such as Mia Michaels, Chris Judd, and Tyce D'iorio. This year Lauren is teaching Kinder I, Kinder II, Creative, and Pre-Teen dance classes on Saturday mornings. She plans to continue her education in dance in the future, as well as in the form of teaching.

                                    (Stretch Class Instructor) While living in Florida Tracey attended many certification workshops and classes in such yogic traditions as Iyengar, Intregal, Hatha and others. Since moving back to Vineland in 1999, she has been teaching at the YMCA and at many local health clubs. She also provides private lessons for those in need, including children. The emphasis of her class is on the physical body consisting of purposefully directed bodily exercises which help to eliminate poisons & toxins from the body, strengthen the entire nervous system & promote a healthy & youthful body. Students at the Arts of the Dance Centre enjoyed taking class with such a highly qualified teacher, leaving her class feeling energized but relaxed.
